Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where casino wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing income accrued from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; still, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are supposedly needed to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of most borders.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, features one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel building that highlights a number of comforts in addition to the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
